  1. You can also use Leica lenses on the Sony system. One thing that bugs me about leicas are the minimum focusing distance. What is it? Like 3 ft.? That doesn't fit well for people like me who want a travel camera.

  2. I watch your videos on a ipad and the audio is real low. Maybe increase the audio about 15-20% higher. It would help. Like you format nice and slow with good info. Thanks

  3. Can't really compare to the big slr, they use those big cameras for sports because they have the fast auto focus and fast multi shots.

  4. I'm an engineer, and I've been a fan of Leica for decades, the M cameras feel like fine technical / precision instruments. The superb optics and the look they provide, the individuality of the images – vintage lenses still used decades after they were introduced (ok, so one can use a 1960s lens on a modern Nikon DSLR). When I travel my gear – which consists of a couple of bodies and several lenses – occupy a shoulder bag that fits under the seat in front of me.

  5. So glad I bought Leica… I have a Q but it is light and precise. A friend I met on line mentioned that she has one and is a small workhorse. I read some reviews and bought last year putting price out of the equation. Happy I did and hope for another Leica in the future.

  6. I would love a video about you!
What your background is what you do for a living how yougot into photography and Leica cameras.

    Greets from Germany

  7. reason why i'm buying leica because i like leica, i want it (even i don't need it), and i'm rich…fuck people with big ass camera, i'm gonna shot sport with my M240

  8. I expected way more… Sadly there is no Leica camera that can compete nowadays, style and heritage is all that is left 🙁 But then again, some people buy and use pocket watches 😉

  9. Because of what Fujifilm is doing, the points in this video don't seem that valid anymore. Just set XPro 2 to full manual. The Xpro's size, image quality, external buttons/dials, ergonomics (which I don't think Leica's are actually that ergonomic because of lack of deep grip) are all there just like Leica. Of course when u compare these points to DSLR's it seems more valid.

  10. Hi Oz, thank you for another great video! One of the many things I really appreciate of your reviews is that you put different lenses on your table for different videos. May I ask that for the two of EOS mount lenses on your table, are they Zeiss 50 Planar and Zeiss 135 APO? Thanks 🙂 Frank

  11. Good review Oz. I have an M3 which is a lovely instrument and such a joy to shoot with. I'm considering purchasing a used Typ262 but the only worry is that even a Leica digital will not last in the long term (and certainly not as long as the M3!). I have read a number of reviews which complain of "glitches" and issues with Leica Digitals as well as unreasonable costs and repair times if they do go wrong. It's a risk of course but one which may be worth taking.

  12. You buy one because you have too much money and you need to spend it somehow. For all Canon and Nikons, you can easily shift Aperature, Shutter Speed, and ISO as well.

  13. You videos give a great information in an unique style. It is enviable as you are able to present in what seems to be, just one cut, with no hesitation in a fluid manner. Impressive indeed. I second camera was a Leica M3 with a collapsible 50 mm Leica lens. After a long hiatus I am returning to photography with my soul. I am slowly drifting to the Leica world. After starting with M43, I am now with a Fuji xpro 1, only with manual lenses. The XPRO1 gives me some Leica like benefits, like simplicity of operation and low key profile. I like very much it’s images., Now I am waiting for a Voigtlander 40 mm 1.2 VM. I shoot with Nikkor lens adapted to Fuji. My plan is to wait for a good deal on a M8 or M9. When it happens I will have the Voigtländer ready. What is your experience of Leica lenses (or m mount) used in adapted bodies ?

  14. A camera is a tool, a means to an end, not a penis extension. It is always funny to listen to the twaddle that people churn out on YouTube, armchair photographers by the score :-).

  15. as a Leica owner, it;s my favorite camera to use. but at the end of the day, if you really like the lenses just buy a LM to E mount adapter for your sony and skip the camera. my Leica is the same size as a a6000 and make the same amount of noise.

  16. Some of the reason are really funny. Comparing Leica M with Canon/Nikon flagship DSLR is not comparing apple to apple. The most funniest thing is "dslr is more likely develop for automatic setting". We can adjust all manually on dslr. Indeed, Leica is a good camera, I have one of them and really pleasing to use. But, for my specific reason, I prefer using my dslr for my work and take my M9 at ease. Leica M series could not be compared to other dslr camera and why? Because it is Leica M. Full stop.

  17. I'm a Leica M user and I think it's ludicrous to compare the sizes and weight of the Canon and Nikon flagship models to a Leica. They are made for totally different purposes. Nikon and Canon offer much lighter and more portable options which would have made a fairer comparison. There are much better reasons for choosing a rangefinder, related to the shooting experience.
