Jambo! I’m Beat Naito and… Thank you so much for watching today. Which is first? Jambo! I’m Beat Naito. oh, is it? I thought you say your name after greeting. I never expected you would do that. You used to work as a spy of Zhiyun, right? Yes. I’ve been told that from many people. What was the word…not vagabond… a shill? Yes. Let’s review together. I thought many of you use Sony A7III. I’m gonna test the gimbal with A7III body and some lenses. Lenses you might be using on gimbal. wt.. the white one… You sure you are going to test the white one? I don’t think it’s going to work though. Let’s experiment. I’m gonna show you which lenses you can use on this gimbal. Yep. Everyone wants to know that. Okay, let’s do it. I’m gonna test 35mm f1.4 easy peasy really? Done. Turn it on. It doesn’t hit each other. It looks okay. I think I could put a small wireless microphone on top here, what do you think? Yeah it seems possible. like the one from Rode. Sony’s wireless probably works too. You can use 35mm f1.4 on WEEBILL-S. Yes. Let’s move on to 85mm f1.4 I hate this coin type of screw. 85mm I need to use a camera backing base. This is sort of pain in the ass, don’t you think? I actually don’t have any lenses that require that. oh, like all the lenses you have is above the bottom of the camera body? I have to tighten three screws to attach the base. such a pain in the ass. I really want Zhiyun to improve this. Attach the base, then the quick release plate. It works! it works perfectly. awesome. the center of gravity shifts a bit backward than 24-70mm. That’s probably why it works. okay. amazing. excellent. next up. let’s see if 24-70mm works on it. oh no, I have to attach the base further back. I set the base at the very back of the quick release plate. it’s quite… back. very back. If this doesn’t work, 24-70mm can’t be used. it’s unbalanced. wait, I could balance 24-70mm before.
Why it doesn’t work now? Do I have to set the base more back? Maybe I should give up using 2 screws. If you take the front screw off, you could move it back more. but with one screw, it’s gonna be less stable. so, 24-70mm is officially not able to be attached. or, I took that off before shooting, This L-bracket might work better. The center of gravity shifts back a bit. It may work. 24-70mm is a bit too long and heavy. It can’t be balanced properly. This may not be approved by Zhiyun but
it seems okay(with one screw in the base) Yes I knew this would happen. Eyecup touches the gimbal. You could move the camera but it touches each other. Now it doesn’t touch each other. It seems okay. but now it’s 24mm. If I extend the lens by changing the focal length, it mightn’t work. If it’s 70mm, the center of gravity shifts forward.
I have to move the camera backward but it’s already at the very back position. If you use 24-70mm at 24mm, it’s okay. Can you even balance at 70mm? Let’s see. The eyecup touches the gimbal. Oh no, this isn’t good. You can’t use at 70mm. but… You could use it. angle is limited but… You can pan the camera. You can use until this angle. Even if you take the eyecup off, you can’t use it at 70mm…? You can use until the eyecup hits the gimbal. Okay. yeah. How about attaching the L-bracket? I think the center of gravity shifts downward a bit. then it might not touch each other. I don’t think 70mm would work but… at 24mm it would be more spacious between the eyecup and the gimbal. so that you don’t have to care about it that much while shooting. I attched L-bracket from Really Right Stuff with 24-70mm f2.8 and without a camera backing base. Look at that. it works. it’s 24mm right now. It looks alright. It feels nice. It doesn’t hit? Not at all. If it’s 24mm, you don’t need to worry. L-bracket doesn’t have to be the one from RRS. As long as a L-bracket lifts your camera a bit but less than the original Zhiyun camera backing base, any brand should be okay like Small rig. Zhiyun camera backing base is a bit too high. They should make the base with like two thirds of the hight. It must be more flexible. Okay. Still you can’t use at 70mm. You could but the angle is limited. It definitely touches each other. limited. 14mm f1.8 by the way, I’m 100% sure you can’t use this lens. You gave up. it’s impossible. we don’t have to test that lens. now we know that we can partially use 24-70mm. It’s impossible. But what about F4? I mean 70-200mm. you mean at 70mm? It’s much lighter, right? What is that? That’s 70-200mm F2.8 70-200mm F4 weighs about a half of 70-200mm F2.8. You could probably use F4 on the gimbal. Buy normally you don’t use telephoto lens on the gimbal anyway. Yeah you’re right. You sometimes use 85mm though. You never use 200mm on the gimbal. scary. What do you mean? I don’t wanna damage the lens. It’s so scary. I really need to pay attention when I use this lens. how is it? It doesn’t work. Not at all. just like 24-70mm, I have to move the base further back with one screw. Nope. too heavy. but it doesn’t exceed the load weight. If you put counter weight or something, it might be okay. You need to move the base backward. Let’s move it back to the limit. Yes, of course the eyecup touches the gimbal. Sigma lenses are heavy. Yeah you could use. just like at 70mm of 24-70mm f2.8 angle is limited. But it kinda works. It works. heavy. weight training? You’ve been working out lately. How is it? It’s alright. but you have to squat down. yeah It’s quite limited. Buy you could use it. Yep. It works better than I expected. It’s amazing. The power of the motor got much better than the previous model. and to wrap up, I bought this one. Zhiyun quick setup kit. I highly recommend that. I heard this one is so useful. let’s attach this to the gimbal and then go out for shooting. You bought this in Taiwan right? yes. 24mm F1.4 You can use this, right? a piece of cake. It’s smaller than 35mm You can attach it easily. I want this. I highly recommend. Give me this after shooting. What? after shooting? This is one of the best lenses for astrophotography. Let’s go shoot astrophotography in near future. Anyway, you can use 24mm F1.4 on Gimbal. Let’s go.
